Part 8 — NARCOTIC FARMS

This section of Title 21, Chapter 8, concerning Narcotic Farms, has been repealed. The original sections defined terms related to habit-forming narcotic drugs and established provisions for narcotic farms, including their naming, expenses, construction, control, management, care of addicts, transfer of prisoners, reporting of addicts, employment of addicts, parole, discharge, admission of voluntary patients, furnishing of gratuities and transportation, and penalties for introducing drugs or aiding escapes. Alien inmates were also subject to deportation.

What this part covers

Section 221 defined 'habit-forming narcotic drug', 'narcotic', and 'addict'.
Sections 222-237 provided for the establishment, operation, and management of narcotic farms.
These sections covered aspects such as naming conventions for farms, financial estimates, construction, control, care and treatment of addicts, prisoner transfers, reporting of addicts by prosecuting officers, employment of addicts, parole, discharge, admission of voluntary patients, and provisions for discharged convicts.
Penalties were outlined for introducing narcotic drugs into a farm and for escape or aiding escape of inmates.
Provisions for the deportation of alien inmates were also included.
All sections within Chapter 8, specifically sections 221 to 237, were repealed on July 1, 1944.
